Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Trivia Champ at triviachamp.net (the "Service"), operated by Trivia Champ ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
The Service
Trivia Champ is a web app for trivia hosts to write questions, run and score events and keep track of venues. We may change, add or remove features, or suspend the Service for maintenance, at any time. We're always working to keep it reliable, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- Give accurate information, and keep your password and sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone has accessed your account without your permission.
Your content and how it's used
You own the content you create in the Service, such as your questions, events and venues ("Your Content"). You give us permission to store, process and display Your Content as needed to run the Service for you.
Shared questions. When you share a question to the public question bank (which happens by default unless you mark it private), you give every user of the Service a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to view, use, copy and adapt that question in their own events and libraries. You can stop sharing a question at any time from the question bank page, but not while it's in another user's event, and copies other users have already made may remain.
You promise that you own, or have the right to share, everything you add to the Service, and that doing so doesn't break anyone else's rights or any law.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Add or share content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive or that infringes someone's copyright or other rights. This includes question sets you aren't permitted to copy or redistribute.
- Try to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other people's accounts or data.
- Overload, disrupt or abuse the Service, including by scraping it or bulk-automating imports and searches.
- Use the Service to break the law or to harm others.
We may remove content, including questions shared to the public bank, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Content from other sources
Some questions in the public bank come from third parties, such as the Open Trivia Database, and are shown with their source and licence. If you reuse them outside the Service, follow the terms of those licences. We don't guarantee that any question or answer, including those in the public bank, is accurate or suitable for your event.
Third-party services
The Service works with Google for sign-in and for venue search. Your use of those features is also subject to Google's terms and privacy policy.
Our property
The Service, including its software, design and the Trivia Champ name and logo, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms don't give you any rights in them beyond using the Service as described here.
Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing support@triviachamp.net. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we need to for security or legal reasons.
Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You're responsible for your events, including how you run them and the accuracy of the scores you record.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll tell you on the Service or by email. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
